8 Pic'n'mix Skin Routine

Here are some of my favourites from my skin routine.

1. CLEANSE

Proper cleansing is the secret to healthy, gorgeous skin, so make sure you give your face a thorough wash morning and evening. Skip the face wipes, no matter how much of a hurry you're in, and opt for a lightweight cleanser that is suitable for removing eye-make up, like micellar water.
You only need a few splashes on your cotton wool pad.
I love Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water for £4.99.

2. CLEANSE AGAIN!
Trust me, a double cleanse will make a huge difference to your skin. While the first cleanse will clear the surface dirt and impurities, the second cleanse goes deeper to really clear out your pores. Spend a minute massaging in a rich cleansing balm or cream in circular motions, focusing on the chin, nose and forehead, which can become congested. Rinse with lukewarm water and pat your face dry.
You only need a 50p size splodge.
I love Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser for £14.00.

3. TONER
Especially important if you still wash your face with soap, which can be acidic, toner works to balance your skin's natural pH levels so it's prepped for your next skincare step. Saturate a cotton wool pad and sweep it over your face.
You only need a generous splash onto the cotton wool.
I love Nivea Daily Essentials Refreshing Toner for £2.69.

4. ESSENCE
Hailing from Korea, these wonder waters are going to be big news this year- and for good reason. Essences work by softening dead skin cells at the surface, so any anti-ageing products you apply afterwards can penetrate properly to work to the best of their ability. They're also fantastically hydrating and give you an immediate glow. Using your hands, press the essence into your skin, over the cheeks and forehead. After a minute, continue your skincare routine.
You'll only need a 5p size blob.
I love Erborian BB Flash Essence for £39.00

5. SERUM
Serums are lighter than moisturisers but mega-intensive, with ingredients that target everything from wrinkles and dullness to pigmentation and dryness. Massage into skin with your fingertips until it's fully sunk in.
You'll only need a 5p size blob.
I love No 7 Protect and Perfect Serum for £24.95.

6. EYE CREAM OR GEL
The skin around your eyes is 10 times thinner than the rest of your face, so a facial moisturiser can be too heavy and so results in puffiness. A separate eye cream or gel is therefore a must. Use your ring finger to gently tap  around the socket and let it soak in for a minute.
You'll only need a grain size for each eye.
I love Body Shop's Elderflower Unperfumed Eye Gel for £7.50.

7. MOISTURISER
Go for separate day and night creams. Day creams should focus on protection, while night creams help to repair. Contrary to popular belief, night cream shouldn't be thick and heavy- you want it to seep into the skin as you sleep, rather than just sit on the surface. Warm your cream in your hands then sweep over the face in upward strokes.
You'll only need a 20p size splodge.
I love Lancôme Hydra Zen Day Cream for £25.00 and Lancôme Hydra Zen Nuit for £42.00.

8. SPF
This applies to your morning routine but a separate SPF is essential to stave of sun damage. The minimum SPF you should be wearing is 30.
You only need half a tea spoon.
I love La Roche Posay Anthelios Tinted Gel Cream for £18.
